Dalia Power Energies

Sector: Energy
Investment Date: May 2007

Dalia Power Energies, is a major player in the private electricity market in Israel. Dalia has constructed a 900-megawatt natural gas-fired power plant, consisting of two identical combined cycle units in the south of the country. The project is based on the PUA’s (Public Utility Authority – electricity) regulation that secures the payment of availability and energy tariffs by the grid manager for 20 years. Construction commenced in 2012 and was completed in September 2015.

The plant is one of Israel’s largest privately operated power stations, supplying some 7% of the national electricity consumption, while at the same time complying with the most stringent global environmental standards and maintaining maximum air and environmental quality.

In November 2016 IIF sold its interest in Dalia to a group of institutional and private investors.
